Roof Inspection in Raleigh, NC
Slope by slope, plus the attic, fully photographed. Free whether you hire us or not, and the photos are yours either way.
You want to know where your roof actually stands. Maybe a storm just came through. Maybe you are buying or selling. Maybe a contractor knocked on your door and told you that you need a whole new roof, and you would like a second opinion from someone who is not standing in your driveway. Our inspection is free in all of those cases, and you keep the photos whether or not you ever hire us.
When To Get an Inspection
After any significant wind or hail event, and sooner rather than later, because most homeowners policies limit how long you have to file after a storm date, often one year and sometimes as little as six months. Damage that sits undocumented gets recorded as normal wear, and then it is yours to pay for.
Also worth doing before you buy a house, since a general home inspector looks at a roof from the ground or a ladder at the edge and cannot assess what he cannot walk. Before you list, so you are not renegotiating over it at the last minute. When your roof passes fifteen years. And whenever somebody has told you that you need a replacement and you want that verified by a company that will still be in Wake County next year.

What Our Inspection Covers
We walk every slope where it is safe to do so, and we look at the things that fail before shingles do: vent pipe boots, exhaust stacks, chimney flashing, valley metal, wall intersections, ridge and rake edges, and any penetration through the roof plane. We check shingle condition for granule loss, curling, cupping, cracking, lifted tabs, nail pops and storm bruising or creasing.
Then we go into the attic, which is the part most inspections skip and the part that tells the truth. From underneath you can see water staining on the decking, damp or matted insulation, daylight through the sheathing, mold, rusted nail points and whether your ventilation is actually working. Before we do any of it, we start on the ground, because in Raleigh the ground tells you where to look. Granules washed out at the downspouts, dents in gutters and vent caps, shingle pieces in the yard after wind. You get everything photographed and an honest summary, including the summary that says your roof is fine and needs nothing.
