Storm Damage Roof Repair in Raleigh, NC

Hail bruises shingles instead of breaking them, and wind creases them without pulling them off. We find the damage you cannot see from the ground and photograph all of it.

A storm came through and now you are wondering whether your roof took a hit. That is the right question to be asking, because most storm damage in Raleigh does not look like damage. Hail rarely punches through a shingle. It bruises it, crushes the granules into the mat, and leaves a soft spot that starts leaking a year or two later, long after the claim window closed. Wind does something similar, flexing a shingle until the seal underneath breaks while the shingle settles back looking fine.

Signs You Need Storm Damage Repair

Start on the ground, because the ground tells you whether the roof is worth climbing. After hail, look for dents in your gutters, downspouts, vent caps and AC condenser fins. Look for splatter marks on a wooden fence or deck. Look for a heavy wash of granules at the bottom of your downspouts. If metal around your house got dented, your shingles took the same hits.

After wind, look for shingle pieces in the yard, lifted or crooked shingles along ridges and edges, flashing pulled loose, and gutters sagging away from the fascia.

On the roof itself, hail leaves round dark spots where granules are gone, sometimes with a bruise you can feel more than see. Wind leaves a crease across the shingle, which is a fracture, and that shingle will lift more easily in every storm after it. The reason to move quickly is not the roof, it is the clock. Most homeowners policies limit how long you have to file after a storm date, often one year and sometimes as little as six months.

    TWO KINDS OF STORM DAMAGE

Neither one looks like damage from the ground

    HAIL
    Round spots, granules crushed in
The surface is driven down into the mat. It sheds granules, softens, and leaks one to three years later.
    WIND
A straight fracture across the tab
The adhesive seal underneath is broken. It settles back looking fine, then lifts in the next storm.

Check your gutters, vent caps and AC fins first. If metal got dented, your shingles took the same hits.

Side by side comparison of the two kinds of storm damage on an asphalt shingle. Hail leaves round spots where granules are crushed into the mat. Wind leaves a straight fracture line across the shingle where the adhesive seal has broken.

    Our Storm Damage Services

Everything starts with a roof inspection. We go over the whole roof slope by slope, check the flashing, the vents and the attic, and photograph every hit we find with enough detail that the images stand on their own.

If hail is what got you, roof hail damage repair covers everything from replacing a section of bruised shingles to a full replacement when the impact count across the roof is high enough that patching does not make sense.

Then there is the paperwork, and this is where most people lose money. Roof insurance claim assistance means we give you documentation your insurer can actually work with, and we can be on the roof with the adjuster when they come out. You have the right to have your contractor present at that inspection, and it is worth using. Storms rarely stop at the roof, either. The same hail that bruises shingles dents siding, and we handle siding insurance claims as part of the same visit so nothing gets left off the estimate.

    Storm Damage for Raleigh Homes

Of the 71 severe weather events Wake County recorded in 2025, 34 were thunderstorm wind and another 20 were flash floods. Wind and water together account for three quarters of everything logged, and straight-line winds and microbursts do most of the roof damage around here. Almost none of it makes the news.

Hail is less frequent than wind, and that is exactly why it costs people money. Wake County logged only 8 hail reports in 2025, on two days, April 22 and May 5. Those two afternoons dropped stones up to an inch and a half across Morrisville, Brookhaven, Garner and east Raleigh. A homeowner who was not home that day has no reason to suspect anything, and the damage does not announce itself for another year or two.

Then hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and while the Triangle is inland, remnant bands still bring sustained wind and long stretches of heavy rain that find every weak spot a summer storm left behind. If the damage turns out to be ordinary wear rather than storm damage, our roof repair page covers what that costs.

    What to Expect

Call and we will get out to you, usually within one to three days. The inspection is free whether or not you end up filing.

We photograph everything, mark hits, and walk you through what we found. If there is enough damage to be worth a claim, we tell you. If there is not, we tell you that too, because filing a claim on cosmetic damage can cost you more than it returns.

One honest note: nobody can promise you a claim outcome. Coverage depends on your policy and the adjuster's findings. What good documentation does is make sure the damage is fully represented, and that is worth a great deal.

    Why Choose Us

After a big storm, out-of-state crews show up in Raleigh neighborhoods knocking doors, and most of them will be gone before your warranty means anything. Bryan lives here. We are fully insured with general liability and workers' compensation, and we hand you proof of it along with your estimate. Your price is written down before anything starts, your workmanship warranty runs 2 to 12 years depending on the project, in writing, and financing is available.
