Siding Replacement in Raleigh, NC
The siding is what you see. What matters is the sheathing and wrap behind it, and replacement is the only time anyone gets to look. Free estimate.
The siding has gone brittle and faded, panels are failing faster than you can fix them, and you have decided to do the whole house rather than keep chasing it. Good. Replacement is expensive and it is also the single opportunity anyone will ever get to see the condition of your walls. What we find when the old material comes off is frequently the most valuable part of the job.
When To Replace Rather Than Repair
Replace when the failure is general rather than local. Panels cracking in multiple places. Widespread fading and chalking. Warping or buckling across runs. Panels that feel soft when you press them, which means moisture has gotten into the substrate. Gaps opening at corners and around windows. Paint bubbling on wood or fiber cement, which almost always means water behind it.
Also replace when your energy bills have crept up without explanation, because failing siding usually means the house wrap behind it has torn or degraded, and air moving through a wall assembly costs you every month. In Raleigh the north and east walls under our tree canopy fail first, since they stay shaded and damp longest, so check those before you decide the house is fine.

Our Siding Replacement Process
The old siding comes off completely. We do not install over existing siding, because that traps whatever is happening underneath and makes it permanent. Then we inspect every square foot of sheathing, looking for rot, delamination, insect damage and any soft spots, and we replace what needs replacing. This is where surprises live, particularly around windows, at the bottom course, and anywhere gutters have been overflowing.
New house wrap goes on next, lapped correctly and taped, with sill pan and head flashing rebuilt at every opening. Then the new siding, hung with the right fastening and expansion allowance for the material. We photograph the sheathing and the wrap stage before covering it, because once the panels are on nobody can verify what is behind them, and you should not have to take our word for it.
Siding Replacement Cost in Raleigh
Whole house replacement is driven by square footage, material choice, the number of stories, how broken up the walls are, and how much sheathing has to be replaced. That last one is the variable nobody can price accurately from the ground, so we give you a clear allowance for it in writing rather than a surprise later.
Financing is available and there are genuinely good budget options. Vinyl at a decent gauge does a fine job on most Raleigh homes.
